I've stayed here on several occasions. Great facility for the time that we spent there. Others in the area were either too run-down or too expensive. The route taken to get to the hotel is sometimes a headache since there is no road leading directly to it. You actually need to use the Northwoods Mall road to get there.
Excellent value for the cost. Breakfast was surprisingly extensive and good. Friendly staff. Rooms were good sized A bit round about to find the place.
Price and location. The walls are paper thin. Every time someone in the room next to mine flushed the toilet or ran the sink a loud rumble would come from the wall. It was loud enough to wake me up. Don't expect a good night's sleep here.
Its the cheapest hotel with a pool in the area. staff was friendly Humidity level in room was terrible even with air conditioner on. Paper, bed and clothes felt damp. No exhaust fan in bathroom. TV reception was poor. When asked staff about TV was told someone would come and check on it but no one came. had to call twice to get shower fixed. all vending machines eat money.
Breakfast was good. Being able to park outside the room was handy. Humidity level in room was terrible even with air conditioner on. Paper and clothes felt damp. No exhaust fan in bathroom. TV reception was poor. When asked staff about TV was told someone would come and check on it but no one came.
The night staff was very courteous and, though it was obviously he was new, tried very hard to make sure my stay was comfortable. I was surprised by the options at breakfast -- eggs, biscuits and gravy and self-serve waffles, as well as the usual muffins, bagels and orange juice. It took a while to actually check-in as my reservation had been misplaced. To be fair, I had booked through an online aggregator site only a few hours before checking in. The heat in my room was turned off when I arrived, but it was easy to turn it up and the room was toasty in no time.
THe bed was very comfortable and there were so many pillows, it felt luxurious on a pauper's pay. Hot breakfast served every morning with hours until 9am and delicious. The rooms are soundproof to the street but not between the rooms. It's not very bad except, the toilet flushing is the loudest thing I have ever heard and I was able to count how many times and when my neighbor went to the bathroom.
comfortable. friendly staff. difficult to locate.
comfortable, friendly staff, great rate. not easy to get to. outside entrance to rooms.
Surprised at how nice it was - everything. .the room, the staff, the cocktails, the breakfast, and the price.
The staff was fantastic. Friendly, helpful and genuinely concerned for our needs. The room was clean and nice size. It is also very quiet. Could have used a comfy Chair to sit and read in and a small table or night stand on both sides of the bed. not a big deal, just would have been nice.
Our group of six (3 couples) enjoyed our one night stay to see a show at the Civic Center. We liked: Welcoming comfy lobby Free shuttle Frig in the room Decorating in the rooms Breakfast and flavored coffee 2 complimentary drink tickets Comfy bed, linens and pillows Close parking Helpful front desk staff I'll let you know if I figure out something.
The most comfortable and consistently quality stay in Peoria.
Lobby has style & charm - impressive as you enter. Designed to curl up with a great book! Charming, helpful & polite staff. Fabulous food with ambiance to boot. Lovely riverfront view. Pleasantly more than we were expecting. Close walk to riverfront dining/museums/shops. Fridge/microwave a bonus in room. Would definitely recommend. As a mom, I felt safe staying w my son during a college tour visit. Occasional minor hall noise from other guests in PM, although we were directly across from ice/sodas & elevator, so not entirely surprising. Otherwise, all else was great.
Clean I felt very safe as a woman traveling alone. Very quiet. My room faced east and only had wooden blinds that didn't shut all the way. I had the vapor lights from the parking lot across the street all night and the sun in the morning.
Great Kayak would book us at a hotel that had been sold out for at least a day. Then when I called, was put on hold for at least 25 min. I finally hung up. Better not get chargEd!
Staff was very friendly at check in. This was my only interaction with another person at the hotel. The building overall is a little old, but it is still in good condition, and I felt safe, and the rooms were clean. Upon getting to my room, I was pleased with how large the room was, as well as the bathroom. There is good work space and a couch. I didn't use the pool so I can't speak to that. I booked based solely on price, and thought I could roll the dice based on the mixed reviews, which after staying here, many negative ones are unfair. I will definitely remember this location for my travels to Peoria. The only negative is that they are working on their kitchen remodel, so they don't have breakfast set up; however, they did offer free breakfast at Perkins, which is in the same lot (maybe 50 steps from the hotel). So it's really not a negative as they make an attempt to accommodate. I did notice a "smell" in the hallway, but it smelled like a cleaning agent and not "urine" like some of the other posters.
The bed was really.. bad. Very uncomfortable and didn T get any sleep..
The pool was good and the rooms were clean. Went to check in at 200pm and lady said there were no clean rooms in the hotel. Kind of shocked an hour before check in. We stayed 1 night and we went to the pool in the morning to find the same garbage on the floor from a huge party the night before. At breakfast we were told there were no more eggs and it was only 2 hours into the 4 hour breakfast. I would say our stay was average for a marriott hotel.
