Staff was very friendly at check in. This was my only interaction with another person at the hotel. The building overall is a little old, but it is still in good condition, and I felt safe, and the rooms were clean. Upon getting to my room, I was pleased with how large the room was, as well as the bathroom. There is good work space and a couch. I didn't use the pool so I can't speak to that. I booked based solely on price, and thought I could roll the dice based on the mixed reviews, which after staying here, many negative ones are unfair. I will definitely remember this location for my travels to Peoria. The only negative is that they are working on their kitchen remodel, so they don't have breakfast set up; however, they did offer free breakfast at Perkins, which is in the same lot (maybe 50 steps from the hotel). So it's really not a negative as they make an attempt to accommodate. I did notice a "smell" in the hallway, but it smelled like a cleaning agent and not "urine" like some of the other posters.
Great Kayak would book us at a hotel that had been sold out for at least a day. Then when I called, was put on hold for at least 25 min. I finally hung up. Better not get chargEd!
The bed was really.. bad. Very uncomfortable and didn T get any sleep..
I like that it had a kitchenette Nothing
Comfortable bed. Clean room. Spartan appearance of room, almost institutional. Bare walls. Bare minimum amenities. Room was ice cold when I checked in after 8pm. Heater blew mix of heat and ice cold air when turned on. Mistake by desk clerk when I checked in resulted in night clerk giving my room key to another late arriving guest.
In room kitchen no bathroom sink space to set toiletries etc. nnot to mention no hairdryer..
The location was close to the local mall and very easy to find. Plenty of restaurants nearby and right off the highway. The room we initially received was not the room we booked and it reeked of smoke. After a 15 min debate with the front desk about the accuracy of my description, we were moved to the room that we booked. The room seemed decent at first but after settling in we realized that there were no toiletries (soap, shampoo, etc.) There were one medium sized bath towel and one face towel for to adults and a child. The toilet bowl was dirty and the sliding door to the toilet/shower was covered in mold. We would have switched hotels but there were no available rooms for the holiday weekend. Oh, and I totally gashed my leg on the exposed bed frame at the edge of the bed. This was one of the absolute worst hotel stays.
Convenient downtown location with reasonable proximity to most points of interest by walk or quick cab ride. Clean and modern facilities. Hot breakfast for free--not gourmet but hey, it beats any cold continental breakfast or having to schlep to some restaurant and pay them $10 to feed you. Free WiFi, again a value compared to some of the other hotels nearby. Comfortably beds, couch and desk area. Kitchen suite was sweet. Robin, at the reception desk, was very friendly and helpful.
The pool was good and the rooms were clean. Went to check in at 200pm and lady said there were no clean rooms in the hotel. Kind of shocked an hour before check in. We stayed 1 night and we went to the pool in the morning to find the same garbage on the floor from a huge party the night before. At breakfast we were told there were no more eggs and it was only 2 hours into the 4 hour breakfast. I would say our stay was average for a marriott hotel.
The night staff was very courteous and, though it was obviously he was new, tried very hard to make sure my stay was comfortable. I was surprised by the options at breakfast -- eggs, biscuits and gravy and self-serve waffles, as well as the usual muffins, bagels and orange juice. It took a while to actually check-in as my reservation had been misplaced. To be fair, I had booked through an online aggregator site only a few hours before checking in. The heat in my room was turned off when I arrived, but it was easy to turn it up and the room was toasty in no time.
Excellent value for the cost. Breakfast was surprisingly extensive and good. Friendly staff. Rooms were good sized A bit round about to find the place.
comfortable. friendly staff. difficult to locate.
Its the cheapest hotel with a pool in the area. staff was friendly Humidity level in room was terrible even with air conditioner on. Paper, bed and clothes felt damp. No exhaust fan in bathroom. TV reception was poor. When asked staff about TV was told someone would come and check on it but no one came. had to call twice to get shower fixed. all vending machines eat money.
I've stayed here on several occasions. Great facility for the time that we spent there. Others in the area were either too run-down or too expensive. The route taken to get to the hotel is sometimes a headache since there is no road leading directly to it. You actually need to use the Northwoods Mall road to get there.
Price and location. The walls are paper thin. Every time someone in the room next to mine flushed the toilet or ran the sink a loud rumble would come from the wall. It was loud enough to wake me up. Don't expect a good night's sleep here.
THe bed was very comfortable and there were so many pillows, it felt luxurious on a pauper's pay. Hot breakfast served every morning with hours until 9am and delicious. The rooms are soundproof to the street but not between the rooms. It's not very bad except, the toilet flushing is the loudest thing I have ever heard and I was able to count how many times and when my neighbor went to the bathroom.
Breakfast was good. Being able to park outside the room was handy. Humidity level in room was terrible even with air conditioner on. Paper and clothes felt damp. No exhaust fan in bathroom. TV reception was poor. When asked staff about TV was told someone would come and check on it but no one came.
comfortable, friendly staff, great rate. not easy to get to. outside entrance to rooms.
