The room had some nice decor. I appreciated the "green" touches. Where do I begin? I wanted to relax in a bath, but the water would only fill 1/3 of the way. Oh, how relaxing lying in three inches of water! The big issue: I was over-charged an additional $150. When I called to figure out what was going on, I was told it was the booking site's fault. Repeatedly. I offered to send my reservation confirmation. Then, and only then, was I told they'd find a way to refund my money. And, was again told it wasn't their fault. The money will take 3-4 days to be refunded. With no response to a follow-up email asking why they had charged my account a second time, I called the hotel, was accidentally hung up on and then called back. The same manager from before told me repeatedly how busy she'd been all day. I felt like I was a nuisance. She was kind enough to say she'd look into the root of the problem. And kind enough to suggest I always double-check my room rates when checking in. Even if it's confirmed. First, that's not my job. Second, their mistake is not mine or any other guest's fault. They like to blame anyone else. Even you. Even if they say it sweetly, it's still not right. Traveler beware. Double check your room rate and your bank account if you stay here.
Checking in was very quick, Staff was friendly and bag breakfast was convenient
Snacks and water waiting for me in my room upon arrival. I received a recommendation and a coupon for a free appetizer at an excellent local restraunt which I used. The eggs at the breakfast were dry and the shower pressure was not very good.
We were visiting our son for parents weekend. He's in college in Ann Arbor. The hotel was very nice and so was the staff The price was ridiculous for a Hampton inn, over $300 per night. Fine for a high end luxury hotel, not a Hampton inn
Convenience to location. Very friendly staff. Comfortable and fairly good value for money. There were left overs from previous guests in the room fridge.
Beds are comfortable, clean rooms, nice pool and great breakfast. We just like it and will stay when we come again in March. Not bad, but when you flushed the toilet, it sounded like a plane was landing. Not annoying, it was funny but really strange. Never heard anything like it.
Friendly staff Rooms too small
Convenient to North Campus and freeways, quiet, clean, safe.
The staff was fantastic, very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and updated with nice carpeting, and the bed was very comfortable. Had a little trouble staying connected to wifi and frequently lost cell phone connection while in our room. We were very surprised to hear dogs whining and barking in the rooms surrounding ours. When we asked the manager about this, we were told we had been placed on the "pet friendly" floor...which we did not request, nor even know was an option at this hotel. The manager told us if we were disturbed by the barking they would speak to the pet owner...but the barking continued. The barking wasn't loud, but it was continuous until the pet owner returned. Probably not an issue for other guests with dogs, but for us it was a bit annoying...since we didn't have pets and did not request a pet-friendly room. Not a deal breaker for us, but it would have been nice to have been informed of other room options, or, if none other were available, been made aware of the situation BEFORE we booked.
Very friendly staff Smelled like potpourri
We checked in late, checked out early. For the price it was a good value. No frills, just a place to spend the night, which is what we needed.
A very cosy hotel with very helpful staff. spacious room, good breakfast, good shuttle service, good laundry facilities, free Wi-fi. A huge value for money! Love to come back and stay in Hampton Inn (North)!
The hotel was clean and the front desk was very accommodating. I booked through Kayak and they had a hard time consolidating the reservation and did not reserve the room I requested. I got a king bed instead of double which could have been a problem but I was traveling with family so we managed.
As we expect from Hampton, the staff was courteous and helpful Room size anything but generous. Was surprised by the small size of our studio king and how cramped the breakfast area is.
The room was clean and all kitchen appliances worked fine. The TV and heater worked perfectly. Good location close to UM and downtown, plenty of parking. Lots of noise from the freeway. Often hard to locate a staff member at the front desk. Breakfast is just some granola bars and bad coffee.
Location was excellent. Rooms were huge. Price for a Saturday in the summer was fair compared to surrounding hotels. It just seemed kind of old. There weren't many amenities. The rooms had kitchenettes but they were bare. You had to go to the front desk to get any type of kitchen utensil. The rooms were huge, but a lot of it was empty space. Check out time was 11 instead of the usual 12 of hotels. If you are looking for a cheap place in Ann Arbor to just lay your head down for a night or two, then this would be adequate.
Room amenities are very nice. Window was open we I got there so I had to kill several different flying demons before I could get comfortable. Not a plus. But overall great value.
Right next to railroad tracks! No sleep. Paper thin floors. Could hear everything above. Horrible 'grab and go' breakfast Sofa pullout couch was broken.
Nothing Blood stain on mattress. Hole in ceiling. Hard towels. Dirty room.
Location The room was dirty. Walking in the kitchen area my feet stuck to the floor and the dishes were dirty.
Fire alarm went off that night and I had to leave the hotel

The room was wonderful, very spacious, clean and I love that they did not charge me for my therapy dog. No, everything was great.
