proximity to town, breakfast not enough tables to sit down for breakfast
Breakfast was pretty good and available at 6:00am which was very important to us. They had fresh chocolate chip cookies and flavored ice water in the afternoon while we were checking in. The room was clean and the air conditioner worked well. We were on the bottom floor and the rooms are right next to the laundry so it is really hot in the hallway going to your room. In addition, we had to run the air conditioner constantly due to the heat produced from the hallway.
Convenient - family friendly
The staff was really nice and attentive. It was cool that even though we chose not to have our room made up between nights they left a little basket of more towels and toiletries.
The staff was amazing. The only problem was that our room was below where they served breakfast so it was very loud. They did however give us a free nights stay when we left due to the noise level.
The hotel staff was amazing! They even opened the pool early for us so that we could get in a swim before our checkout :) Breakfast was yummy and well stocked. Would definitely stay here again.
Price and fire place in our room! Only thing that I didn't enjoy was the loud train location.
Great location, staff was courteous and knowledgeable about the local food and attractions, ample parking breakfast was standard 'hotel' breakfast, not that it was bad just nothing special
Staff was best I have encountered in years--friendly, helpful, went out of their way to make our stay great. Good breakfast. Room very nice and clean.
Went for a 2 night stay for late fall viewing which was perfect. Read the reviews of the basic hotels along the highway and decided on the Hampton because it was newer and a little closer to downtown. Yes, it’s on the Highway into town, yes the train tracks are out back but road noise was minimal and never heard a train. Only the children running in the room above us was heard. The place is clean, well maintained and friendly as others have stated. At check in, we were already upgraded to a Suite – hadn't asked for it, was kinda looking forward to a King Standard room w/fireplace but decided to take it. Room was great, good layout, lots of light, clean and didn’t smell of old room or like a Febreeze bomb had been set off. Bed was a little hard for two nights, (preference) and the pillows very flat and small. Biggest gripe – no fan in the bathroom, face it, some things that come out of you need to be vented – the lack of a fan made for a couple of “unpleasant” time periods till...
The staff was very helpful and provided a lot of good info about the surrounding area The shower area in the bathroom. The control was hard to use, the seat mounted on the wall fell down and wasn't trustworthy, and water wound up all over the floor

Nice clean new room
Staff was helpful. They do not have any type of breakfast and that is important with young children.
Your reception person was very interested in making my stay comfortable and accommodating. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. It was quiet and I slept well. Your website leaves a lot to be desired. I had to book through a second party which cost me more money. It was a bit antiquated and needs updating.
Clean, comfortable. Steamboat Springs has so much to offer there is no reason to sit inside a luxury hotel room. Mathis hotel was inexpensive and basic. All one needs
Rooms were clean. Walls were thin. Limited Parking.
The rooms were clean and had a refrigerator. The staff was helpful. I left my bathing suit in the bathroom and they found it and kept it for me until I could come get it. The room was chilly, because the air conditioner wasn't covered and there wasn't a thermostat in the room.
Room was great Lack of attention to morning coffee stand out of creamers not replaced, parking a problem with M/C taking one spot instead of sharing a spot.
I have stayed here many times. There is nothing fancy about this hotel, but all I need is a bed and bathroom when I come to steamboat. I am in Steamboat to enjoy the out of doors, not my hotel. Rooms are clean. Check in was fast. Hop on the walking trail and walk along the yampa river 4 miles into town. The hotel is also on the free bus route. I noticed there was a very small pool and also a hot tub, but I did not utilize either. This hotel fits my needs perfectly.
The room was extremely clean the staff was extremely friendly and the location worked so well for the sporting events we were attending. I would say all around the best bang for our buck. May be easier access from the back parking lot to the rooms. If that's all I could think of that's a pretty good stay.
Definitely not the best hotel we have stayed in, but for the price and being able to bring our dog with us it worked out just fine. The room had kind of a weird smell and the beds could have been a little more comfortable, but like I said before, for the price it was alright. -smell of the room -beds not very comfortable -no microwave -no way to adjust the temperature (no thermostat in the room)
Very quiet, clean and comfortable. Reasonally priced and would stay again.
The room was comfy and the beds and sheets were clean. If you want a cheaper place to stay that is still comfortable go with Steamboat hotel.
