We stayed at the hotel for a total of 1 1/2 weeks over July 2007. A couple of nights a high ranking official from another country was staying at the hotel so security was tightened during those nights - it didn't disturb the ambience, in fact it made our group appreciate that political figures preferred this hotel. From the moment my group entered the hotel, we were greeted with a warm welcome, a refreshing fruit drink and a beautiful lobby. The hotel staff was incredible - extremely helpful. The breakfast buffet had a mix of food for Western and Eastern travelers and plenty of safe fresh fruit to eat. The hotel room itself was nice but nothing fancy - except for the remote control panel that could do anything from light the room to open the drapes. The fitness room included some massage options as well. The staff was willing to take us on a tour of their facility. Khon market is very close and is useful if you need....anything (including imported groceries from the US if you need a to...
great hotel in a busy city
I am a global traveler and spend a good amount of time in hotels. This got to be one of the worst Hotels I have seen anywhere across the globe. Five Star rating for this Hotel is a joke. To name a few terrible experiences at this place: 1) I was put up on the 5th floor. As soon as you step out of elevator you get a pungent and nauseating smell due to ongoing construction/painting activity. I am surprised that they put guests on this floor. 2) Shoddy and cheap rooms. I am sorry to say this but the fact is you do not see quality anywhere. There were stains on sheets. Blankets were terrible and I was afraid to even touch them. 3) Unprofessional staff both at main entrance and front desk checkin. At main front entrance, unprofessional staff swarm you every time you step in or out of building and I have noticed staff arguing among themselves in front of guests. 4) Lack of Rest Rooms (Bath Rooms) in common areas. There is only one small rest room in main reception checkin and restaurant area. Bottom line avoid this Hotel at all costs.
Dirty, loud, bad food, manipulative travel desk, generally sketchy
Location!! After my booking, Hyatt was trying to overcharge me despite what i received in the confirmation (Thanks God i kept a copy of it). When i raised the question for the overcharge, they tried to lie and after 10 minutes of argument, they adjusted the bill but they made it sound like they did me a favor. I also did not receive any perks despite my Hyatt Platinum status.
