Location..... Poor selection of breakfast items on the club level. The power went out on one of the nights.. It isn't directly your fault but you need to own it. Why I'm I paying full price for a substandard stay. Our cable was messed up the 3 days that we were there.
For the price I paid I was expecting a mediocre hotel. I was pleasantly surprised. I was especially impressed with the staff for being so very friendly and accommodating. They went the extra mile to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. We requested a room with a view, so they put us on one of the higher floors. We probably would have preferred to be facing the river rather than the parking lot, but it was nothing to complain about.
General location off I-90 highway. No elevators so I had to hire party to move luggage to and from room for being partially handicapped. No Wyndham points credited because I booked through you upon checkout.
nothing . very hard bed like sleeping on cement slab. noisy air condition 747. torn carpet by the bathroom. broken light switch cover. the absolutely worst continental breakfast hard biscuit, hard boil egg nothing to go with it,honey & grape jelly for toast only, no pastries at all. The worst hotel ever stayed at maybe for $40.00 I could understand that it needs a total renovation. No signs for stairs for second floor, doors in the hallways needing a lot of paint.
Continental breakfast great. Kids loved the pool. Room was comfortable for most part. They at first had assigned me the wrong room twice. I had reserved a handicapped room Then when front desk clerk was told she was extremely rude and made it known she was being put out. She told me she had to bump someone so she could accommodate me. I responded by how can someone being bumped from a room I had reserved???? She threw key on counter and then proceeded to walk away. The hotel is not set up for handicapped people. No wheelchairs available or elevators. Handicapped room should have walk in shower. Bed comforter was stained and cobwebs in windows. Price was increased by 50 dollars due to events.
The breakfast is really good, and the restaurant is really good. No military discount when booking through third party which is stupid. The hot-tub was closed the entire weekend we were there, which was during a very big local event so the hotel was kind of busy. That's just a huge lack of good management. Walls are paper thin and the hotel is right next to the interstate, like literally right next to it. You better hope your room isn't on that side. Rate hikes during local events just like every other greedy hotel, tells you your nightly rate is the rate of the cheapest night to try and get you to overlook the other 2 really expensive nights during the event. Over-all, it was big hotel price with the feel of a small super 8 motel during the weekend we stayed.
The breakfast was good. Rooms were comfortable.
Stayed 10/26-27/2014 @ room 214 with family (wife,1yr old and 4yr old). found this thru kayak and read most reviews. Tis true that the place is a bit dated but i found it very accomodating and clean. Our double room was suprisingly modern and clean: big screen flat tv, comfortable and clean beds, new couches, new carpet. Bathroom was mediocre but clean. The waterpark was fantastic. The entire area overlooking the waterpark wascoziky warm! Perfect for a cool fall day. My toddlers enjoyed the clean and warm water of the toddler pool. Yes, a toddler pool! Water as low as 6" and as high as 18"-ish. Stayed there for an hr watching the kids from the edge, with foot in blissful water. Bought food from their hotel resto for dinner and it was delivered promptly within 15min. In the AM, the free continental breakfast had a suprisingly wide selection. Reasonably priced everything. Loved our stay and will come back. Big pool with big slide had cold water.
The outdoor patio was wonderful! Beautiful view and great sevice! There was a unpleasant odor in the hallways and by the pool!
It was in lacrosse We felt very dirty during our stay. Upon entry to our room we found stray hairs all over the towels, a fingernail on our bed, and stains on our carpet. Our experience is what I would of expected from a $50/night sketchy motel, not a $200/ night best western. In addition, aside from the pool area the entire hotel seemed very outdated. The bathrooms were recently updated, but was done so on the cheap, and cleaning wasn't thorough. I don't believe I've ever left a negative review, but there's a first time for everything I guess!
The facility was a bit old. Furnishings and the double deadbolt locks were interesting.
Only downside is that there no elevator. So you have to carry your suitcase up if you have a 2nd floor room. The room is spacious. Indoor pool/water park was interesting. Great for family with kids.
The pool has a lot to offer for all ages. It is very close to downtown LaCrosse and lots of parking available. The breakfast and coffee was handy. The restaurant had a live band on Saturday night which was very entertaining and convenient. The door to the bathroom was pape rthin and looked like there was water damage to the bottom of it. The bathroom sink was clogged and the nozzle to turn on the shower was broken so it was difficult to turn it on but eventually we got it.
Water park for kids. Life guards very friendly and outgoing. Dirty. Hotel staff rude. Don't expect to sleep here before midnight, very loud.
Decent location near UW Lacrosse and nice to be on the river. Pool area nice and decent room. Staff friendly. Pool set up mostly for younger kids but still ok for older kids.
Loved the water slide at the pool, plenty of parking, close to River and only a few miles from downtown LaCrosse. Free breakfast was not that great. Waffles, pancakes and all baked items had a weird sweet taste to them, and the pool could have had a deeper section for adults!
Pool area set up was great. Loved the Solo Cup dispensers. Genius. If you are going to require plastic cups, it's a great idea to provide them. Good thinking. Is there or isn't there a mini-golf course out back? It looked like it needed some work. Had I known about it, I would've take my kids (assuming it was included in the price of room).
The room's size was great. Upon making my reservation I was given wrong info. Checking in the front desk woman wasn't very friendly. I was given a paper explaining internet, pool times, breakfast, and lastly explaining "quiet hours" and that there would be security walking each hall to enforce said rule-- this was an utter lie. I was up until 4 a.m. due to loud and obnoxious people in the hall as well as 3 different times having people trying their keys in my room door. Not once was there security to enforce a quiet hour rule. The room itself wasn't cleaned well, I had to wipe down the table, desk, chest of drawers and nightstand myself. There was an immense amount of hair on the carpet, which stuck promptly to my bag and clothes when I knelt down to get items from my bag. The beds were described as "queen" but were slightly smaller than a FULL size bed I have at home, and the mattresses were hard as a rock. The hotel itself is nothing spectacular, a bit out of date. The breakfast bar worker was ridiculously rude and obnoxious. I'm not at all pleased with my stay and definitely won't be wasting money here again.
