I booked online through booking.com and picked up a king size bedroom for $75.19. I was so pleasantly surprised once I entered the premises. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean, nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable. In addition, I had a great view from my 7th floor window. I will definitely book here again especially at the price I was able to get! The hotel doesn't look like much from the outside but inside you will find it is quite nice with really good service.
Location was excellent Rooms were dirty and very out dated. Had to change rooms because of the cleanliness. They say, their rooms have been renovated but they are not up to my standard. No bar at the restaurant, only buffet.
Very nice place to stay. Charged for Internet access
The location, downtown. Is great. The security features are great. The booking was charged to my visa 2 days before my arrival, when the confirmation says it would not be charged until I was actually there, and if I chose that method of payment. Also, the night room clerk was extremely rude to my adult daughter when she asked to have her room key card coded. (The cards frequently had to be redone as they did not work) She was interrogated severely and publically and was embarassed by his arrogance.
Bed was uncomfortable.
Staff helpful Paying $15.95 for parking.
Very accommodating. Helpful staff.
Walking distance from Rogers Place (15 min) Good value Nice staff Comfortable bed Dated lobbies/rooms seem slightly dingy This hotel wants to be a super nice but doesn't seem like they want to invest in the accommodations
Comfort and location
See Cons, as there was more than there was Pros. However, I should give my compliments to the reception and housekeeping staff, who were friendly and accommodating. I left my watch in the first room we were given (immediately switched), and housekeeping did report this, and it was quickly returned to me at reception when I noticed. I chose the Sutton Place in Edmonton based on a good experience at their location in Vancouver, which is a nice hotel. The Edmonton property is just not of the same caliber by a mile. The problems started on arrival: parking is not obvious, and no valet was present for directions (it was admittedly Sunday night). The parkade elevator was broken, and stairwell lock, so we ended up exiting through the back into a garbage filled alley. The first room we got had a very loud/on-the-verge of breaking heating fan, so I immediately requested a change of room (which was granted). The amenities are less than Sutton in Vancouver - the mini bar was empty (not stocked - I had been hoping to get some $10 chocolate on the company's dime), the wallpaper in the bathroom old and dirty (fan didn't work). The Television did not carry Sportsnet West, which forced us to go down to the lobby late at night to watch the Flames (lose unfortunately) in the playoffs. The elevators are old, the buttons don't work properly and when you arrive on the ground floor the movement of the lift is gut-wrenching. The hotel restaurant - Chop - is nicely appointed however has a relatively limited menu which we struggled with, as it was dominated by steak. Although admittedly a steakhouse, a hotel restaurant needs more options.
We got an excellent price. The price for parking was outrageous at $26 per night. We were not told there was a lot across the street where you could park for $3 a day. The bathroom was not very clean.
Comfortable beds. Close to Rexall Place. Fourteen dollars for hotel guest parking.
Downtown location was ideal for me. Additional fees for overnight parking.
The underground parking was great. And the service provided by the people there was awesome Maybe get some lower prices on some single rooms.
