I chose this hotel because it was located on the main road near the center of San Jose del Cabo and was very reasonably priced. It turned out to be a very convenient location and a pleasant hotel for a brief stay. The staff was helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy and not on the beach - but I was just here for two days and not looking to spend time in my room. Would stay here again for a brief visit
The staff was very friendly and helpful/ Just seemed that food was tough to get, restaurant not open enough. But it was within walking distance to downtown San Jose which did offer a good food selection.
Very nice hotel, the best thing abouth this hotel is that, there are no time sharesss ?? and you can relaxe, all the staff was great
The staff were friendly. The room adequate for price. Trouble with front desk in understanding English when booking excursions. Location was not good. Too far from Shore or restaurants. No restaurant in hotel. No washcloths, Towels were falling apart. TV was hard to watch, old and not clear. The vertical blinds over patio door kept falling apart.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Air conditioners were very noisy.
"Phenomenal" might sound a little too exaggerated, but hear me out. The service... AMAZING. The staff are super nice, friendly, and very helpful. I LOVE how relaxing this place is. The pool, the beach... They're all great! The food too are very good!! We said we were gonna keep trying out restaurants in the city, but the food in this resort was so good that we decided to have a couple meals there. Overall, I'm in love with this place. I would totally stay here again the next time I'm in Cabo, and I will definitely recommend this place to every person who'll ask me about Cabo❤ PS: Please do not be bothered by the ongoing construction. It wouldn't ruin your vacation... I can assure you that ;] Nothing....
most common areas were and in good shape - paid for upgraded room but resort only had one (still no window coverings) and it was right next to loud construction - probably wouldn't have been that big of an issue had I not emailed reservations ahead of time to ask about this (and told construction would not affect us) - front desk refused to accommodate us or provide concessions insisting they had the room available (even after showing them what their reservations people had emailed me)
This is a laid back, but fun resort that is right on the beach. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. The pool is beautiful and the beach is very nice. Several people have said that this is a non-swimming beach, but we went in the water each day and had a blast. You just have to be careful if the riptide is strong. There is construction going on at the resort, but it didn't really impact us much. We are not very high-maintenance people, so little things don't really bother us. If you do let little things bother you, you're probably better off spending more and going elsewhere. Our room was brand new and had a gorgeous ocean view. We enjoyed our stay tremendously. We will definitely come back here.
Staff was friendly neat clean place Nothing
This hotel is a great value for the money. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Extensive food choices should satisfy just about anyone. The low rise terra cotta colored building and the native landscaping create an inviting atmosphere. Location--the hotel abuts a nature preserve on one side so nothing commercial can ever be built there; also, very close to town. There is an adults only quiet pool as well as areas for families with children. Free parking. We have stayed at this property 6-7 times over a period of about twenty years, and it's showing its age a little. Some towels were worn and frayed (sheets were fine), and dishware was chipped. Some wooden furniture in the rooms is showing wear and tear. Decor could use some color and local art.
The Hotel and Grounds were very clean and well maintained. The staff was always friendly and available if needed. Having never been to the San Jose area before. We usually stay in Cabo San Lucas. We were surprised that there weren't any activities that are located in San Jose. There wasn't much for the kids to do, so we spent a lot of time going to Cabo for activities.
The pool and grounds were beautiful. Rooms were very spacious with full kitchens and large baths. Room and bathroom lighting was very poor. Wireless internet did not work in individual villas. Internet was an extra charge.
Friendly non intrusive staff, luxury, pool and surroundings, service poolside and in restaurants.
Concierge, miguel was very knowledgeable as well as efficient
Gorgeous all around. One note of advice would be for rooms to include bottles of water. You get incredibly thirsty in the heat and not having water in the room daily creates tremendous anxiety.
Grounds We reserved a 3BR Grand Penthouse Villa. When we arrived, it was unavailable. So we had to move rooms after the first night. Then, the villa they gave us was in a construction zone with jackhammering all day. We really couldn't even use the room during the day as it was unbelievably noisy and loud. They gave us a discount but it wasn't worth it as our family of 7 had a lousy vacation due to their awful level of service. We'll never come here again.
The Resort is beautifully designed . Super clean. Great pools. Service and staff were on par. Great kids pool with fun slide. We had a great time staying in this luxurious resort. We will return . Food was ok there is a lot better in town. The wifi needs serious help. Sales pitch for Diamond Resorts was not too intrusive use your best judgement ...
We took our young kids 3 & 5 and had a very relaxing time. The staff is very accomodating. You'll feel like you are on their own compound. Very safe and secure. Always a staff around even in the early dark morning hours on the grounds keeping it up. If you want a luxury feel at a very upscale place then this is the place. We saw 1 singer and 1 celebrity at the pool with their kids but everyone respects their privacy.
THE BEST HOTEL WEVE EVER STAYED AT ! THE STAFF ARE AMAZING, THE SERVICE , THE FOOD WAS GREAT, THE POOLS, AND FOOT MASSAGES, MY THANKS TO OUR BUTLER CARLOS ALWAYS THERE WHEN YOU NEEDED HIM,GIFTS EVERY NIGHT! WE WERE SPOILED, BEACH SERVICE TOO! AMADO WE THANK YOU
Everything was fantastic. The people were attentive. Food was great. Atmosphere was incomparable.
Just got back from the Palmilla. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The rooms are perfect, and the bathrooms to die for!! Will be returning next year!!
My wife and I traveled here for our 12th anniversary in September and we are still raving about it. There is not one thing I would change! By far the service is the most attentive and outgoing of any 5 star hotel I have ever stayed. The grounds are manicured perfectly. The staff all know your name and there is nothing you can't ask them that they would not do. The Villa's are incredible with amazing fews, ample space and the best bathroom I have ever been in. This hotel thinks of everything! The food was also incredible. We will be back!
This was the first stop of my honeymoon, before heading to Asia's best hotels. And none of the 8 other hotels we visited compared to this one. This has got to be the best hotel we've stayed in ever! And the food is exquisite.
The One and Only in Palmilla is the ultimate in luxury. The rooms are stunning, the service is incredible (you walk around and they respond to you by your last name) and don't miss Agua by Charlie Trotter. He has two restaurants here, but I liked Agua better due to its ambiance and its food selection. Plus the prices aren't as steep!
Our Palmillas experience began the moment we stepped out of the airport. We were transported by hummer to the resort and felt immediately cared for. The resort was immaculate! Not a bug or weed in sight, the beautiful gardens blooming, doves cooing and everything clean and hygienic. The staff were gracious, polite and detail oriented, always prepared to care for you and get you anything you wanted or needed without being overwhelming. Our room was gorgeous and it was above the beautiful, swimmable beach. We had panoramic views of the bay and the sound of the waves right outside. Our bed was super comfortable and clean (down pillows yeah!). The bathroom was vast, luxurious and well appointed. On the second day, I found a sewing kit that had been tailored to the colors of my wardrobe! The attention to detail was evident everywhere. Nothing was short of luxurious and everything was maintained perfectly. There were little, carved wooden blocks you could set out by your sun lounger which si...
Having stayed at many 5 star resorts around the world, The One & Only Palmilla has been my favorite. There was NOTHING I did not LOVE about this place! Excellent food and drinks! Excellent service! Incredibly beautiful property!
some staff member VERY helpful, others not so much
Room view was of pool and ocean. Bed was actually comfortable. Mini Fridge cool. Place to hang your suit to dry in bathroom. Convenient parking lot--attended gate. Allowed us an hour late check out. Convenient block near Mega and a few nicer resorts, shops across the street. Ocean front. Big enough room towels. Wrist Bands, food tickets, coupons for everything that you can't use until you've been there a full day....? why?, fried food smells, smoking by the pool, loud speaker with nattering cheerleader type, loud music, not enough outlets, no ceiling fan, not luxury at all, very basic, place for young college aged kids or travelers with small children. Room had loud and intense humming buzz. TV had poor reception and streaks running through every picture. Karoake??!! in the bar. Fountain is just PVC pipe sticking out of low pond. Was for just one night and I was so glad was only one night. pool looked gross, didn't go in. We had been at luxury property next door for rest of trip and needed one night due to wonky travel plans. Was an abrupt change of venue. There is a gym but it looked quite small. If you just need a place to hang your towel--this will do. Has old European feel in the lobby, rooms are pretty basic. If can get one of the large ones at the South end/ocean front--might be worth it. Had to go to 3 ice machines to find one that either worked or had ice.
Nice facilities, friendly staff, beautiful pool Lunch selection and quality was mediocre at best. Worst hamburger of my life; thin, wet, and mushy. There is no way that was beef.
Was on the beach which was nice. Some staff were very helpful and nice. Front desk was rude. Too family oriented for a bachelorette group to stay and enjoy the pool and restaurants. Restaurants were not accommodating for reservations.
was only four days but we really enjoyed all the activities in the hotel they need to bring transportation from airport to hotel
Was very disappointed how they tried to rope us into buying a time share.
