Friendly and professional staff, check in and out procedures were very efficient. Staff willing to meet our needs, room was very comfortable. We did find it a little noisy both late at night and again early in the morning. Our room was in the older wing of the hotel - over the function centre. We have stayed in the newer wing on a previous occassion and it was a lot quieter.
Enjoyed it very much, only stayed one night and no complaints.
We stayed with our two small children and our room was extremely well set-up for us when we arrived with a cot and a single bed. Our two year old boy was unfortunately sick the night that we stayed and all his bedding needed to be changed and was in a bit of a state. The staff dealt with it professionally and calmly and made us feel at ease, it was a real treat to be looked after in this way. No, all good
Clean and Quiet and relaxing spa and pools, helpful happy staff, good service and good food .Location great for our family Reunion and local sites.Easy to find very handy, Go to the clouds of steam against the hills!
Very peaceful surroundings. The room service wasn't good in the fact we had to check back after 2 hours. We were told they had missed the order. It was then delivered some 20 mins later. We were advised the Hotel was busy - maybe more staff were needed.
The room was nice, clean, very nice facilities, just next to Te Puia and the Maori village - great location. The location was however also a disadvantage of the hotel. As the Te Puia sulfur mud pools were very close the air was very smelly and sometimes even very hard to breath.
The room was comfortable and had all facilities expected. Liked everything except the lack of regular black tea (eg. Dilmah) - too many flavoured teas were available. Also, the prices of room service Breakfasts were astronomical.
This clean, bright, new, comfortable hotel was very conveniently located for Te Puia and Waiotapu, which were my activities of choice. I'd recommend to anyone going to Rotorua for the Maori cultural experience and geothermal points of interest. Like most NZ hotels, the Heritage Rotorua charged for wireless Internet in the rooms. The international hospitality industry needs to understand that this is a service most travellers now expect nice hotels to include at no additional cost, just like a hairdryer or bathrobe.
The entertainment for the family. lack of tea/coffee/hot chocolate in room
location, warm staff smell of sulpher close by
Affordable Great location Bed was uncomfortable A/C had limited cooling
friendly stuff, nice enviroment, very convenient to all facilities NA
Location is close to the lake as stated in website and the room in general is spacious for two. Also, the location of the room I was given was not as expected. The coffee/tea maker was not clean the color was more towards green instead of bright white. I could not make any coffee or tea.
The choice at the buffet breakfast
very helpful staff friendly and did thier best to accomidate all wants. room needed to be vaccumed under the beds when i dropped some thing the rolled under the bed their was all sorts of small bits and pieces under the beds rubber bands and bits of platic etc
Location good, handy walking distance to town, lake front, museum, restaurants. nice view over lake. Comfortable, spacious room. Hard to find a fault, but I dont think there was air conditioning.
The bathroom; powerful shower that remained at a constant temperature and was spacious. Lack of car parking on site.
Very good value for money, reasonably central location, comfortable room and friendly staff Although the room was not too bad, the hotel is sited downwind of the pretty foul smelling Lake Rotorua
Hot Spa Baths and the entertainment. Did not like the strong sulphur smells.
good value for money;courtesy of staff; location; quiet and relaxed no
We had asked for a two-bedroom unit but got a large three bedroom apartment with a private hot tub and well equipped kitchen. The staff checked on us to see if we needed anything. Unlimited free wifi, which is not always the case in NZ. Check-in closes at nine, eight on weekends. They had mentioned this in their reservation, but we did not notice as it was part of a lot of standard text that we didn't really read. Fortunately, we got there just as the manager was leaving. Also, the windows didn't have insect screens. If we kept them shut, the room was a bit hot and stuffy despite the fans (no AC), and if we kept them open, we got bit by some sand flies. The internet was weak and kept dropping.
