I had a great time at the Windsong and already plan on returning. As a woman traveling by herself, I always felt safe and comfortable, which was my first priority. I stayed in a standard room, which I believe is their smallest floor plan, but it was plenty of space for me and a great value for the money. I made some friends and saw the two-bedroom suite they were staying in, and it was gorgeous--I would definitely consider coming back with friends and getting one of those.
The hotel is a quick ride from the airport and is right on a gorgeous stretch of beach. I never had a problem getting a beach chair of a spot by the pool, no matter what time of day I came down from my room. It's within easy walking distance on the beach of several other hotels, if you want restaurant variety, plus the popular Thursday night fish fry.
It's a smaller resort, which was exactly what I wanted; the other guests were mostly adults, but there were a couple families with small kids. If you're looking to avoid the swarm of kids that sometimes comes with a beach vacation, this is a good, affordable, really nice spot to do it in.
I don't really have anything bad to say. The food at the restaurant wasn't great, but it wasn't bad. I wish the standard rooms had bathtubs instead of only stand-up showers, but the shower was so big that it wasn't as much of bummer as I thought it might be when I booked. Overall, a great place go stay and strong value for the money.
