I loved the rooms that were little private cottages. A massive bathroom space and a two level design made me feel like I was in my own home for a few days. The pool facilities are wonderful and the grounds are well kept and clean. Located on the Kandalama, it was a relaxing space.
There were a few things that I felt were not good. First, the staff, although friendly were a bit cold. I was a woman traveling alone and it was bizarre that everything I went to order, they would warn me the price- lol- in a way that was very awkward, as if they assumed I wouldn't have the money. It was a bit comical at times and annoying at others. Maybe they've never seen a woman who can pay for her own things out of the money she makes but this I began to find rude. Especially since it kept happening. The food was not the greatest. I ordered mostly a la carte and it was definitely the worst meals I had in my entire almost 3 week trip. The buffet was better albeit not by much. As well, the room/cottage I had was infested with ants. I know it's located in the wilderness and jungle so I expected some creatures of nature to make their way through, however, this was much more than that. I asked them to look at it the first night and they simply used a cleaning agent and cleaned it as you would a spot on the wall. By the second night, I was waking up to the little critters checking out the bed and crawling on me. The other issue I had was wifi. It was only located in the hotel lobby, which can be a considerable walk from your room depending on where they place you. I stayed at places during my trip for less than the cost of this hotel and I had better wifi, food and facilities. I didn't dislike this stay, I just feel they need to look into some issues. Especially if they are charging over 100 per night. This is more of a place for large groups or families i think.
